Abstract: Based on daily observational data (mean temperature,relative humidity,wind speed,sunshine duration,and precipitation) from 191 meteorological stations in Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality from 1990 to 2020,obtained from the National Meteorological Science Data Center,this study comprehensively evaluated the climatic suitability for four types of health and wellness holidays:year-round mild,summer retreat,winter warmth-seeking,and sunlight therapy.The results indicate that the suitability of the year-round mild type decreases gradually from the northeast-southwest belt toward the northwest and the southeast.The central and northeastern parts of the Sichuan-Chongqing region are suitable for health and wellness holidays year-round.The northwest-central zone is optimal for summer retreats,whereas the mountainous areas of southern Sichuan are favorable for winter warmth-seeking due to their mild winter climate.The suitability of the sunlight therapy type exhibits an overall pattern of "high in the west and low in the east".Stations with a climate suitability rating of "Suitable" or above for the four types of health and wellness holidays are mainly distributed along the northeast-southwest belt,followed by the northwest,with relatively fewer stations in the southeast.
