Abstract:
The variation of the first tropopause height (FTH) from 1964 to 2005 over Shenyang in the north of Liaoning province and Dalian in the south of Liaoning province was analyzed by the trend analysis and the abrupt change analysis as well as wavelet analysis. The results show that the seasonal and annual variations of the FTH over Liaoning province decrease in the recent 42 years, except in winter. The decreasing amplitude in the south of Liaoning province is greater than that in the north. According to the multi-yearly averages of the FTH, the highest value appears in summer, followed in spring and autumn. The lowest one is in winter. Moreover, the FTH in the south is higher than that in the north in different seasons. The inter-annual change ranges of the FTH are larger in summer, and the ranges in the south are larger than that in the north, except in winter. The climatic abrupt change appears in the metaphase 1970s. In addition, the temporal and spatial differences of cycle variations of the FTH are obvious.
