Application of CALPUFF in air pollution simulation in Shenyang, Liaoning province
-
Abstract
The diffusion of air pollutants on January 5, 2006 in Shenyang was simulated by CALPUFF. The results indicate that the distributions of pollutant concentrations in the atmosphere can be simulated intuitively and really by CALPUFF. The diffusion scope of pollutants is related to wind speed. The larger wind speed is, the wider the diffusion scope of pollutant is, and vice versa. When the diffusion scope of pollutant is larger, pollutant concentrations around pollution source is smaller, and vice versa. The distributions of daily average concentrations are influenced by wind filed and topography. However, the distributions of real-time concentrations are influenced mainly by wind field.
