Numerical simulation of the effects of building symmetry on the airflow field and pollutant distribution

Abstract
Based on the modified k-ε turbulence model,airflow field and pollutant concentration field around dissymmetry and symmetry buildings were simulated.Airflow field and pollutant concentration field around the different buildings were calculated when the wind speed reaches 3 m/s.The results indicate that the building shapes can influence obviously wind field and pollutant concentration field around the buildings.The characteristics of wake regions are different for the different building shapes.The numerical simulation results are significant to research the transfer characteristics around buildings.Finally,the diffusion mechanisms of pollutants are also discussed.
