Vertical section characteristics of aerosol in winter of 2007 over Dalian, Liaoning province
-
Abstract
Lidar data of 8 clear weather days selecting from January 8 to 30 in 2007 were analyzed in Dalian. Aerosol extinction coefficient profiles were retrieved based on Fernald method. The temporal-spatial distributions of aerosol in boundary layer were discussed in terms of the wireless sounding data. At the same time, aerosol extinction coefficient at 180 m height (the lowest observation height) was contrasted with PM10 and visibility on the ground. The results show that aerosol mainly distributes within the height of 2 km in winter over Dalian. There exists an aerosol layer within the height of 0.5 km in the morning and at night. Aerosol extinction coefficient profiles accord with the sounding data. Aerosol extinction coefficient at 180 m height is a positive relation with PM10 concentration on the ground, and it is negative with visibility.
