Action framework for climate change adaptation

The impacts of climate change are already serious in some vulnerable regions and poor communities in China. Although there is a pressing need for adaptation actions, only limited progress has been made so far due to the lack of practical action mode or guidelines. An adaptation framework is developed, including six crucial steps i.e. climate risk, adaptation target, adaptation action, technology optimization, implementation demonstration and monitoring assessment. This framework is universal and transferable, and it could help implementer develop a comprehensive and strategic action. Adaptation action framework is an open and renewable system. According to the practice, it can use feedback to review and adjust adaptation options and priorities, and the basic information and optimization technology of adaptation action could be refined.
