A case study of the impact of Dropsonde data on the NWP initial fields

Some case studies were done in this paper in order to improve the understanding about the impact of Dropsonde data on the NWP initial fields during Harricane Debby in Carribean Sea in 2000.The results showed Dropsonde data was very important to the NWP initial fields,especially humidity and wind fields.The initial fields can get more real statues of the atmosphere if Dropsonde data was used,and the forecast accuracy can be improved.
