Instruction for authors

General

"Journal of Meteorology and Environment" is the official Chinese-language journal with English ABSTRACT, publishing original articles, reviews, scientific notes, bulletins and academic information and development covering all aspects of meteorology, ecology and environmental sciences.

Authors must state that the content has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere, that all authors have contributed significantly, and that all authors are in agreement with the content of the manuscript. A “Copyright Transfer Statement” should be submitted to Journal of Meteorology and Environment.

Submission of manuscripts

Authors must submit their articles to "Journal of Meteorology and Environment" online (Http://www.jme1984.net.cn) to facilitate quick and efficient processing. Please log directly onto the link below and upload your manuscript following the instructions given on screen. Electronic submission substantially reduces the editorial processing and reviewing time and shortens overall publication time. Manuscripts should be presented in the following order: (i) title page, (ii) abstract and keywords, (iii) text, (iv) acknowledgments and (v) references. In a manuscript, SI units should be used throughout except where non-SI units are more common. Abbreviations should be defined at first mentioned in the abstract and again in the main body of the text and used consistently thereafter. Standard mathematical notation should be used. Single letters that denote mathematical constants, variables, and unknown quantities should be set in italic type in text and in equations. Simple equations can be written as normal text. Equations appear on separate lines are numbered consecutively.

Title page
The title page should be concise and informative and contain the name(s) of the author(s), the affiliation(s) and address(es) of the author(s), the e-mail address, telephone, and fax numbers of the communicating author, the present address of any author, if different from that where the work was carried out, should be supplied in a footnote.

Abstract and key words
Each paper must be preceded by an abstract presenting the purpose of the research, the most important results, and conclusions in no more than 250 words for original and review papers. The abstract should not contain references. Three to eight key words should be supplied after the Abstract for indexing purposes.

Text

Authors should use subheadings to divide the sections of their manuscript, including Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion or Conclusion, Acknowledgments, References.

All tables and figures (photographs, graphs, or diagrams) should be cited in the text, and each numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. Tables should be self-contained and complement, but not duplicate, information contained in the text. They should have a title and a legend explaining any abbreviation used in that table. Vertical lines should not be used to separate columns. Column headings should be brief, with units of measurement. The table, its legend, and its footnotes should be understandable without reference to the text.

Figure parts should be identified by Arabic numerals. The figures should either match the width of the column (8.0 cm) or be 16.0 cm wide. The maximum height is 13.0 cm. The publisher reserves the right to reduce or enlarge illustrations. Figure legends must be brief, self-sufficient explanations of the illustrations. Color figures will always be published in color only if the author agrees to make a contribution (1100 yuan RMB/page) to printing costs. Otherwise the figures will be printed in black and white. Please note that, in such cases, it is authors’ responsibility to prepare figures to be illustrative enough to convey the necessary information even after they are converted into black and white.

References

References at the end of the paper should be listed in appearance order in the text. Literature citations in the text should be added the relative number. Journal titles should not be abbreviated.
